Janitor; Freezer

Overview

Job Summary:

We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Janitor to join our sanitation team inside our freezer department. This role is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and organized environment in areas where frozen food products are stored. The ideal candidate is comfortable working in cold temperatures for extended periods and follows all safety and sanitation guidelines.

• Perform daily cleaning and sanitation of floors, walls, equipment, and storage areas inside the freezer.
• Remove trash, debris, and packaging materials to maintain a clean work environment.
• Sweep, mop, and disinfect designated freezer zones following company sanitation standards.
• Ensure walkways are clear and free of hazards, including ice buildup.
• Clean and sanitize drains, containers, shelving, and any assigned equipment.
• Maintain accurate cleaning logs and follow all procedures for food safety compliance (FDA, USDA, HACCP).
• Use industrial cleaning tools, chemicals, and PPE safely and correctly.
• Work closely with warehouse and production teams to ensure cleaning tasks do not interfere with operations.
• Report any safety concerns, damaged equipment, or maintenance needs to supervisors.
• Follow all cold-storage safety protocols and take regular warm-up breaks as instructed.

• Must be able to work in freezer temperatures ranging from
  -10°F to 20°F (-23°C to
  -6°C).
• Required to wear company-provided freezer gear and PPE.
• Frequent standing, bending, lifting (up to ___ lbs), and moving equipment.

• Previous janitorial, sanitation, or warehouse experience preferred but not required.
• Ability to work in cold environments for prolonged periods.
• Good communication skills and ability to follow instructions.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently.
• Must follow all safety rules and maintain a clean, safe work area.
