In Kahului, HI you will serve and safeguard the airport, its facilities, its travelers, and airport operations. You will interact with the public, provide outstanding customer service, and communicate clearly while upholding our values of teamwork, integrity, and putting people first.
Position Type: Part Time - Afternoon
Pay Rate: $28.86 / Hour with an hourly bonus of $3.58. Premium paid shall be based on the position actually worked by the employee.
Job Schedule:
- Day – Tue 01:30 PM – 10:00 PM
- Sun – 01:30 PM – 10:00 PM
To be considered, all applicants must meet the following criteria:
- 2+ years of professional law enforcement experience in the U.S. after graduating from a certified law enforcement academy (Federal, State, or County level)
- Graduate of Law Enforcement or Military Police Training Program or Equivalent (must provide credentials upon applying)
- Valid Driver’s License
- Law Enforcement Officer License
- 22+ years of age
- No felony convictions or convictions for abuse of a household member under Lautenberg Amendment or documented truthfulness infractions in violation of Giglio/Henthorn
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions
- Certified State law enforcement recruit training
- Certified County law enforcement recruit training
- Federal law enforcement training
- Programs approved by the Director
- Must be able to supervise Contractor’s personnel and work effectively with airport management, tenants, other law enforcement agencies and the public on matters relating to security disputes, complaints on the performance, conduct or behavior of subordinate employees
- Shall have no record of moral turpitude, domestic violence, untruthfulness, or mental or emotional disorders which may interfere with performance of duties
- Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site‑specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner
- Exercise sound judgment and render immediate, appropriate decisions under stressful conditions
- Demonstrate maturity in conduct, behavior, and attitude
- Take orders, follow instructions, accept responsibility for one’s actions
- Maintain alertness, attentiveness, and professional conduct; recognize, respond, and take appropriate corrective actions to various situations
- Display strong moral character with high standards of truthfulness
- Communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, in English
- Show courtesy in interpersonal relationships with the public, airport employees, tenants, law enforcement, and security personnel
- LEOs may be required to provide a court appearance for citations issued on behalf of DOTA;
Contractor shall provide replacement staffing for LEOs required to attend a court proceeding
- Mental and emotional capability to perform all duties required for assigned post/duties
- In good physical health and fully capable of performing normal or emergency duties requiring moderate to arduous physical exertion such as standing, walking, patrolling during an entire shift, climbing stairs, running, and self‑defense
