Summary:
The MMA Personal Training Sales Manager plays a key leadership role in delivering an exceptional member experience while driving MMA programming, Private Training, and retail revenue. This position is ideal for a sales-driven professional who is passionate about health, fitness, and combat sports, and who has personal training experience in both grappling and striking disciplines.
The ideal candidate understands MMA culture, terminology, and training formats well enough to confidently communicate value, demonstrate workouts, and guide members into appropriate MMA programs. A background in training environments such as Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, wrestling, Muay Thai, boxing, or similar disciplines is strongly preferred.
The MMA Personal Training Sales Manager leads from the front—selling, servicing, and promoting MMA-focused training while supporting and coordinating with the MMA coaching staff. This role is highly relationship-driven and requires strong communication skills, comfort with sales, and the ability to motivate members to take action.
In addition to revenue generation, this position supports club operations, addresses member concerns, assists with employee relations, and ensures scheduling and timekeeping accuracy. The role requires flexible availability, including a mix of mornings, evenings, and weekends as needed to support member demand and business needs, and is accountable for meeting or exceeding Company revenue goals for MMA programs, Private Training, and retail sales.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:- Actively sells MMA programs, personal training, and small group training through effective prospecting, guest tours, and strong Turn-Over (TO) execution when needed.
- Conducts and services MMA-style introductory sessions, putting members through safe, engaging grappling- and striking-based workouts designed to build confidence, generate interest, and transition members into MMA classes and private coaching.
- Services Introductory Personal Training and MMA intro packages, builds value, and re-signs clients into full MMA programs, private coaching, or class-based training options.
- Maintains a primary focus on driving participation in MMA classes, ensuring members experience classes early and consistently as part of the onboarding process.
- Engages in consistent in-person, digital, and outside-of-club outreach to generate leads, complimentary consultations, and MMA trial experiences.
- Ensures accurate administration of client programs, retail purchases, and scheduling. Arrives on time, prepared, professional, and fully engaged for all appointments.
- Supports all revenue-generating initiatives related to MMA, including trials, intro sessions, retail promotions, and special events.
- Consistently achieves or exceeds monthly revenue goals for MMA programming, Private Training, and retail sales.
- Reviews daily club sales performance and individual staff metrics in collaboration with the Fitness Manager, Vice President of Fitness, and MMA coaching staff to identify gaps and reinforce behaviors that drive results.
- Enforces Company sales policies, systems, and procedures to ensure consistency, compliance, and performance.
- Independently manages personal client scheduling to ensure optimal time management, availability, and service quality.
- Coordinates directly with clients to schedule, reschedule, and confirm sessions, consultations, and class participation.
- Maintains accurate and up-to-date scheduling records and oversees the full scheduling lifecycle for assigned clients.
- Partners with the Fitness Manager to ensure MMA and fitness coaches remain productive, engaged, and aligned with daily, weekly, and monthly revenue and service expectations.
- Establishes and reinforces daily, weekly, and monthly performance goals that meet or exceed Company standards.
- Conducts structured meetings with MMA and fitness coaches to review performance metrics, operational expectations, and sales execution, while providing direction, motivation, and accountability.
- Supports member service initiatives including club tours, MMA program explanations, training agreements, and appointment setup.
- Addresses and resolves member concerns professionally and efficiently, escalating issues when appropriate.
- Performs administrative, organizational, and housekeeping duties within assigned areas as needed.
- Communicates facility repair and maintenance needs to Operations and conducts daily facility walk-throughs to ensure club standards are upheld.
- Supervises coach sales activity, reviews agreements, and prepares required daily paperwork.
