Salary Range: $16.00 To $18.00 Hourly

Mental Health Kokua (MHK) is seeking a Full-Time Residential Assistant in Kona to support adults with mental illness in community-based homes. In this role, you help residents build daily living skills, maintain stability, and move toward greater independence—supporting recovery through active, relationship-based work that helps individuals engage more fully with their community. This position is ideal for individuals who enjoy hands‑on work, collaboration, and supporting others as they take meaningful steps forward.

• Mentoring & Daily Living Support: Support residents with communication, budgeting, personal care, meals, and household routines.
• Safety & Crisis Response: Help maintain a safe environment, respond calmly to emergencies, and document incidents.
• Recovery-Oriented Support: Encourage resident goals using person-centered, trauma-informed practices.

  Support social, recreational, vocational, and educational activities aligned with resident interests.
• Household Operations: Assist with shopping, cleaning, and basic facility upkeep.

  Complete timely documentation and work closely with supervisors, case managers, and team members.

• Minimum: High school diploma or equivalent
• Preferred: Experience or coursework in behavioral health, human services, or related fields
• Skills: Reliability, compassion, strong communication skills, and emotional resilience
• Certifications: TB clearance, CPR, and First Aid (or willingness to obtain)
• Other Requirements: Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug screening; ability to lift up to 25 lbs
