General Labor Hatchery Associate – Taylor Shellfish Farms

Wage Range: Hourly $24.00–$27.00 DOE

The employee will report to the Operations Supervisor and work closely with other farm staff. The position will help with all aspects of the nursery to set, grow, and maintain shellfish seed throughout the year. Responsibilities include tank cleaning, seed cleaning, screening/grading of clams and oysters. This is a physically active position with repetitive tasks on uneven gravel terrain, partially shaded outdoors.

• Stoop, bend, kneel, twist, squat, or stand for daily tasks
• Push full wheel barrows
• Lift up to 50 lbs. alone or 100 lbs. with assistance
• Visual requirements: close, distance, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment
• Speak and hear well to communicate with co‑workers, supervisors, and managers
• Use hands for repetitive simple grasping, pushing, pulling, and fine manipulation

• Able to work independently and in teams
• Good communication skills
• Self‑motivated and organized
• Can work one weekend day per week
• Farming background preferred
• Capable of carrying out repetitive tasks
• May be required to do other tasks as needed

Note: Individual must provide own housing and transportation.
