Prepared Foods Production Team Member (Deli / Culinary Prep) – Part Time
Join us as a Prepared Foods Production Team Member at Whole Foods Market, where you’ll support our deli and culinary prep areas. Your work will focus on producing, labeling, and rotating ready‑to‑eat products while delivering friendly, efficient service to customers and fellow team members.
Base Pay Range$16.00/hr – $25.40/hr
Responsibilities- Assist with production for all Prepared Foods venues.
- Ensure all prepared foods are properly labeled, dated, initialed, covered, and rotated.
- Maintain product quality by following WFM guidelines and recipes.
- Document waste and spoilage using appropriate forms.
- Use measuring devices and adhere to recipes.
- Educate customers on the difference between WFM products and conventional store items.
- Keep walk‑ins and freezers clean and organized.
- Arrive on time, appropriately groomed, and ready for scheduled shifts.
- Provide excellent customer service, including greeting, assisting, and suggested selling techniques.
- Maximize sales potential through proper preparation, stocking, rotating, and merchandising.
- Follow weights and measures, health and sanitation, and safety procedures.
- Maintain a clean, sanitary working and shopping environment and keep equipment in good condition.
- Perform opening, mid‑day, and closing duties; ensure accurate signs and pricing.
- Immediately report safety hazards and violations.
- Thorough product knowledge.
- Ability to produce adequate batch quantities per shift.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Understanding of spoilage, supply waste, and profit impact.
- Knowledge of merchandising expectations within the department.
- Exceptional customer service orientation.

- No prior retail experience required.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
- Standing/walking for 6–8 hours during an 8‑hour shift.
- Fine manipulation and use of tools, including knives and electric pallet jacks.
- Work may involve bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching.
- Exposure to FDA‑approved cleaning chemicals and temperature extremes (freezing, refrigeration, >90°F).
- Ability to work in wet or dry conditions and on a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- May require ladder use.
