Tire Technician for Commercial & Agriculture/Farm
K&R Tire, a locally‑owned group of companies in West Michigan, is seeking a dedicated Agriculture & Commercial Tire Technician to join our dynamic team. With five strategic locations in Grand Rapids, Holland, Kalamazoo, Lansing, and Muskegon, we pride ourselves on delivering exceptional service and fostering a supportive work culture. This role offers the unique opportunity to work in diverse environments—from farms to construction sites—ensuring the safety and efficiency of our clients’ vehicles.
Responsibilities- Dismount, mount, and repair commercial truck tires
- Inspect vehicles using company‑provided equipment, including racks and hoists
- Perform on‑site tire installation and repair services at customer and farmer locations
- Ensure the safe operation of company vehicles, adhering to all traffic regulations
- Work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Maintain a clean work environment and properly care for equipment
- Participate in training sessions and adhere to safety procedures and company policies
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with customers
- Work as a team member in the shop for customer tire needs
- Experience with farm/OTR/heavy‑duty/commercial tires
- Knowledge of farm and off‑the‑road tires and the mounting processes
- Ability to lift, pull, or push tires weighing between 30–250 lbs
- Proficiency in mounting large equipment tires with or without mechanical assistance
- Capability to safely change and repair commercial/farm tires in all weather conditions
- Knowledge of farm equipment and tires
- Ability to be on an on‑call rotation for 24‑hour service
- Effective communication skills
