Construction Superintendent
Job Description This role requires you to serve as the leader onsite for all installers and field employees for specific assigned projects. You will monitor projects from planning to completion, overseeing tasks such as budgeting, scheduling, and contractor management. You will manage multiple carpenters across various jobsites and assist with toolbelt work when necessary. Adherence to safety, quality, and efficiency standards is crucial to ensure the safety and security of the construction site.
Responsibilities- Lead onsite teams for assigned construction projects.
- Oversee project progression from planning to completion.
- Manage budgeting, scheduling, and contractor coordination.
- Supervise multiple carpenters across various jobsites.
- Engage in hands‑on construction tasks as needed.
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and efficiency standards.
- 5 years of commercial carpentry experience.
- 3 years of experience reading blueprints and construction documents.
- 3 years of experience managing contractors or field staff.
Skills & Qualifications
- Proficiency in construction documents and blueprints.
- Experience in commercial construction, steel stud framing, and carpentry.
- Knowledge of flooring, drywall, ceiling, metal framing, and retail mixed‑use projects.
- OSHA 30 certification.
Work Environment This position specializes in commercial building projects, including hospitals, hotels, schools, restaurants, and large buildings. You will work 40–50 hours per week, enjoying job security and consistency with year‑round employment and no layoffs. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Kalamazoo, MI.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $26.45 – $35.00/hr eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
