Statewide Political Photographer

JOB DESCRIPTION

WWMT/ARC West Michigan/ is looking for a creative full‑time Statewide Political Photographer. This person will be based in the Lansing area and cover statewide issues and the state legislative session for the three Sinclair stations in Michigan. Our candidate will also work with a statewide political reporter.

We are seeking someone who can see beyond the lens and bring back compelling stories. Our candidate should have at least one year of shooting experience and technical knowledge of editing and photo equipment. We have desktop and laptop editing. You will need to possess excellent people skills, a strong work ethic, and a great attitude. A passion for storytelling is absolutely essential in this position.

• Strong news judgment and communication skills
• Excellent technical skills
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced and deadline‑driven environment
• Ability to work well independently and as part of a team
• Produce content on multiple platforms and stream video

• A minimum of one year shooting experience and technical knowledge of editing and photo equipment
• Experience with LiveU is a plus
• Must be flexible with schedule
• Must have and maintain a valid license and a good driving record
• Must be able to lift and carry between 25 and 50 pounds on a regular basis
