OBGYN Hospitalist - Kalamazoo, MI at Provider Careers at Bronson Medical Group. This is a full-time opportunity to join Bronson Methodist Hospital's OB/GYN Hospitalist program. The physician will collaborate with midwives, residents, medical students and Maternal Fetal Medicine specialists to provide high-quality, patient-centered care on the labor and delivery unit, including high-risk obstetrical patients and midwifery back-up. They may also provide consultation for GYN patients in the Emergency Room and perform urgent surgical procedures.

• Provide coverage for the labor and delivery unit, including high-risk obstetrical patients and midwifery back-up.
• Collaborate with midwives, residents, medical students and Maternal Fetal Medicine specialists to deliver comprehensive medical care in a patient-centered environment.
• Provide consultation for GYN patients in the Emergency Room and perform urgent surgical procedures as needed.
• Coordinate with the care team to determine referrals and level of urgency for follow-up, referrals/consultations.
• Prescribe medical treatment and clinical drugs as appropriate and order studies, tests and ancillary services.
• Document all services in the patient medical record and participate in process improvement and continuing education initiatives.
• Oversee mid-level medical staff and nursing clinical staff as assigned; assist in resolution of patient questions and complaints.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient information and uphold customer service standards aligned with the organization’s mission.

• Medical degree and 2 years of direct or intern experience required.
• Current Medical License in the state of Michigan.
• Current DEA and DPS Certificate of Registration.
• Must maintain all requirements for medical staff privileges.
• Knowledge of professional medical principles, procedures, and techniques; thorough knowledge of pharmacological agents used in patient treatment.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills and appropriate telephone etiquette.
• Ability to perform in a tactful and professional manner.
