At Risk School Social Worker (Part-Time, 32 hours per week) at Paramount Charter Academy, part of National Heritage Academies, located in Kalamazoo, MI.

Located in Kalamazoo, MI. This position is scheduled for 32 hours per week.

• Provide group and individual counseling to special education students as mandated by IEPs; monitor progress toward IEP goals and participate in IEP meetings.
• Provide group and individual counseling to general education students; monitor responses to interventions.
• Develop and monitor behavior intervention plans; support and consult with general and special education teachers.
• Complete psychosocial assessments to assist in determining special education services.
• Conduct functional behavior assessments and communicate results to all team members in parent-friendly language.
• Complete risk assessments for students referred for school social work services.
• Establish relationships with students and parents and participate in school planning.
• Identify needed community resources and make referrals to support educational and behavioral interventions.
• Provide staff consultation on behavioral-emotional-environmental issues and collaborate with school staff to promote student learning.
• Provide crisis intervention services.
• Maintain state-required clinical records and submit documents for statistical reports in alignment with program standards.

• Hold a master e2 80 99s degree in social work; exceptions may apply in North Carolina and Ohio.
• Hold a valid social work license issued in the state where applying.
• For Michigan positions, state approval as a school social worker is required.
• Knowledge of special education processes and procedures is preferred.
• Experience working with at-risk students is preferred when applicable to the school.
