JOB SUMMARYThis position will assist the physical education teacher with student supervision and assisting in presenting and reinforcing learning concepts. In addition, this position will assist and supervise students in the female locker room.
QUALIFICATIONS- Due to the nature of the position, this role requires a female staff member to assist the male Physical Education Teacher by supporting the female locker room during PE classes. This is considered a Bona Fide Occupational Qualification (BFOQ) under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act.
- Experience working with students with emotional impairments, cognitive impairments, and/or physical disabilities, or equivalent experience.
- Must be willing to become CPR certified
- Non-violent crisis training (CPI) certification (preferred)
- Associates Degree or MDE approved testing (preferred)
- Provide non-instructional support of students
- Assist in supervision of students
- Provide academic support for students
- Provide individual and small group instruction, when applicable
- Demonstrate initiative and creativity with students
- Adhere to district health and safety procedures
- Supervise female locker room and other duties as needed
- Supervise students during lunch

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to walk; stand; sit; use hands for fine manipulation, handle or feel and reach with hands and arms using a keyboard and video display terminal. The employee is frequently required to stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, ability to adjust focus, depth perception and peripheral vision.
