Senior Electrical Engineer

Overview

Tower Pinkster is an architecture, engineering, and interior design firm based in Michigan, Indiana, and Kentucky. We are seeking a Senior Professional Electrical Engineer to lead electrical system design from concept through construction administration, build client relationships at the planning level, and guide the design team on projects of significant scale and complexity. The role also involves participating in new business development and marketing efforts.

• Client

  Perform business development activities including marketing and networking to build personal connections and involvement in professional organizations; participate in interviewing prospective clients to understand their needs; collaborate with clients to plan design, determine solutions and scope to develop an electrical system plan; construct the scope of work and determine a budget; manage existing client relationships and develop relationships with future clients.
• Project
  :
  Lead project teams to create electrical engineering solutions, design documents, and specifications; assess existing building systems and provide maintenance, savings, and rebate recommendations; design electrical systems, lighting layouts, and fire alarm systems to meet client needs and codes; oversee construction documents from schematic to construction administration; conduct facility and field assessments, engineering studies, commissioning, and site visits; create and present reports and client communications;
  
  perform as Project Manager on electrical-driven projects; coordinate with other disciplines, clients, and construction partners to meet schedule milestones.
• Mentorship
  :
  Mentor team members to share knowledge and support growth; prepare and review redlined documents for development; lead, teach, and guide others in their growth and development.
• Leadership
  :
  Provide input on work priorities and project scheduling; conduct quality control reviews on projects; serve as an electrical subject matter expert to resolve project issues; provide input to department standards and procedures.

• A bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from an accredited program is required.
• A Professional Engineer (P.E.) license or the ability to obtain licensure within 1 year is required.
• Ten years of professional experience in the AEC industry is preferred.
• Experience mentoring, training, and overseeing projects as a lead electrical engineer.
• Revit software experience preferred.
• Proficient in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Knowledge of power distribution and associated equipment.
• Knowledge of lighting technologies and lighting control systems.
• Knowledge of fire alarm requirements and building code considerations.
• Knowledge of drawing, scheduling, and coordinating design components in 3D drafting software.
• Knowledge of codes and standards.
