Fire Protection Designer

Job Summary

Shambaugh & Son L.P. is looking for a Fire Protection Sprinkler Designer. In this position, you will be responsible for designing layouts using AutoCAD/Hydra

CAD and creating hydraulic calculations. The role is based in Indiana and focuses on new and retrofit construction projects across industrial, food processing, commercial, institutional, healthcare, pharmaceutical, and bio-fuel sectors.

• Design and layout Fire Sprinkler systems.
• Read, analyze, and interpret contract documents, including all disciplines of construction drawings and specifications.
• Write, plan, coordinate, and present to individuals and groups.
• Apply mathematical concepts to hydraulic calculations and project cost analysis.
• Develop positive and ongoing relationships with customers to ensure satisfaction.
• Create fire sprinkler designs with AutoCAD, Hydra
  
  CAD, Auto Sprink, and Revit.
• Handle BIM modeling and field surveying.
• Provide fabrication lists and coordinate between trades.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

• Bachelor’s Degree in a technical or business discipline preferred or equivalent experience (e.g., Architectural, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management).
• Strong analytical, critical thinking, and mathematical aptitude with attention to detail.
• Good working knowledge of hydraulic calculations and ability to read and understand blueprints.
• Adaptability to a changing environment and ability to handle multiple priorities under time constraints.
• Flexibility to travel to client sites as needed.
• Reliable attendance, including the ability to work extended hours and weekends if required.
