Position Summary:We’re looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our Finance team. This role is responsible for supporting the day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, and contributing to the overall financial health of the organization. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams to support financial reporting, compliance, and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:- Prepare and post journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close activities
- Support revenue recognition and expense tracking in accordance with GAAP
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts
- Support accounts payable and receivable functions
- AIA invoicing, tracking and collections
- Help maintain and improve accounting systems and automation tools
- Assist with audits, tax filings, and compliance reporting
- Contribute to process improvements and scalability initiatives
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support financial initiatives
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 3–5 years of accounting experience preferred
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and accounting software (e.g., Sage, Connect Wise)
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
The expected compensation for this role in the Kalamazoo, MI area ranges from $60,000 to $75,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
