The Lead Billing Specialist oversees daily billing operations to ensure accurate and timely invoicing, payment processing, and account reconciliation. This role provides leadership to the billing team, ensures compliance with organizational policies and regulatory requirements, and supports process improvements that enhance efficiency and financial performance.

• Always be compliant with all company and regulatory policies and procedures.
• Oversee and manage the daily billing workflow, including invoice preparation, charge entry, claims submission, and payment posting.
• Ensure all billing is accurate, complete, and submitted within required timelines.
• Monitor aging reports and work with staff to resolve denials, discrepancies, and outstanding balances.
• Review and approve billing adjustments, write-offs, and corrections.
• Supervise, train, and support billing staff; assign workloads and manage performance.
• Conduct regular team meetings and provide coaching, feedback, and development opportunities.
• Ensure staff compliance with internal procedures, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
• Serve as the point of contact for escalated billing questions and client/payer inquiries.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation for audits and reporting.

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
• 3+ years of billing experience, with at least 1–2 years in a supervisory or lead role.
• Strong knowledge of billing procedures, coding (if healthcare), and reimbursement processes.
