Meaningful experience for future lawyers. Lennon Miller is a Kalamazoo‑based law firm seeking applicants for legal assistant positions designed for graduates seeking substantive work experience before attending law school. Past employees have taken the skills and knowledge acquired during their employment at Lennon Miller to law school. This position is designed to provide future lawyers with exposure to a variety of practice areas, meaningful experience preparing and processing common and complex litigation and transactional documents, observational opportunities, and a deeper understanding of the lifestyles of attorneys.
This position helps candidates find greater success both in gaining admission to law school and performing well in law school. Perhaps most importantly, this position helps candidates plot the course of their legal careers more successfully and with a better understanding of how to find enrichment and fulfillment in a legal career.
Preference will be given to applicants whose achievements and experience demonstrate organization, academic excellence, a strong work ethic, advanced writing/editing skills, time‑management under pressure, experience working with office equipment and file management systems, and the ability to interact positively with clients, coworkers and the courts.
Responsibilities- Client intake calls and scheduling
- Communication and coordination with the courts
- Document preparation, drafting, revision, assembly, and filing
- Processing, organizing, and analyzing litigation documents and transactional documents
Hours are 8:30 am–5:00 pm, M‑F.

Compensation for entry‑level applicants is minimum $20.00/hour, and that rate is subject to increases for applicants with prior relevant training or work experience.
