Lift Truck Associate

Overview

Lift Truck Associate – Pactiv Evergreen Inc. – Kalamazoo, MI. Hiring immediately at our Manchester Road location.

Shifts:

NIGHT, 5:20pm to 5:30am (12 hours) with 3 paid breaks.

Pay:
Weekly starting at $21.06/HR plus $1/HR night shift differential.

Schedule:

4‑week rotating pattern. Week 1:
Monday work, Tuesday work, Wednesday OFF, Thursday OFF, Weekend work – 48 hrs. Week 2:
Monday OFF, Tuesday OFF, Wednesday work, Thursday work, Weekend OFF – 36 hrs. Week 3: same as Week
1. Week 4: same as Week 2. and so on.

Responsibilities

• Unload and receive packing and regrind trailers.
• Stage shipments for transfers.
• Move regrind/virgin material to/from lines.
• Create and put away hus.
• Keep production supplied with correct packaging.
• Dump trash using tippers.
• Operate stretch wrapper.
• Drain railcars.
• Other duties as necessary.

Safety

• Understand and participate in all safety programs, policies, procedures.
• Safety load and unload materials to/from designated storage areas, racks, shelves, or vehicles.

Quality/Housekeeping

• Develop and maintain ISO‑compliant processes.
• Maintain work area in clean, safe order.

Qualifications Operate Equipment

• Operate motorized equipment and peripheral equipment safely and efficiently.
• Feed and operate grinder without jamming or damaging grinder system.

Inventory Control/Management

• Accurately count, weigh, and record number of units of materials moved or handled using daily production sheet or work ticket.
• Proper techniques for arranging materials/items in specified sequence.
• Accurately post data from one source to another in ERP or peripheral software systems.

Organization

• Self‑starter, work independently to complete assignments/responsibilities.
• Organize and prioritize workload as required.

Education & Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic math and computer skills.
• Forklift certification/license.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Pretest ability to lift 75 lbs.

Ada – Essential Functions

• Climb approved ladders and moveable steps.
• Heed safety warnings, devices and alarms.
• Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
• Lift and carry products weighing up to 50 lbs; occasional lifts up to 75 lbs; lifts over 75 lbs require 2‑person lift or mechanical assistance.
• Problem solving and establishing cause‑effect relationships in office or manufacturing environment.
