Position: Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

Overview

Villa At Borgess Place is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join their team. As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you will be caring for a group of residents and assuming responsibility and accountability for them. Nursing is provided through assessment, implementation, and evaluation of the plan of care.

Base pay range: $33.40/hr - $37.40/hr

Responsibilities
  • Provides licensed care to assigned residents as ordered by physician and in accordance with facility, federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations.
  • Provides required resident assessments/observations and interventions, reviewing care plans to ensure appropriate care.
  • Takes and records residents blood pressure and vital signs, administers catheter care, administers IV therapy to residents as ordered within license limitations, and provides respiratory care (e.g. oxygen, nebulizer treatments).
  • Charts nurse’s notes in an informative and descriptive manner that reflects the care provided as well as the resident’s response to the care.
  • Ensures the resident’s environment is free from accidents and hazards; addresses safety risks as prudent and warranted.
  • Monitors and directs non-licensed ancillary services as deemed necessary to meet professional standards and maintain the highest practicable level of resident care.
  • Communicates information to residents, resident families, physicians, guardians, governmental agencies, and facility personnel as required by policy and guidelines.
  • Ensures that all aspects of resident care plans are implemented and maintained. Makes recommendations for care plan changes to the IDT per professional standards.
  • Ensures compliance with infection control standards and corrects identified non-compliance.
  • Adheres to HIPAA compliance as per company policies and procedures.
  • All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Must be CPR trained and possess a current BLS certification (American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Ability to multi-task and remain calm under stress
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Understands and follows infection control standards, policies and procedures
  • Flexible work schedule with occasional overnight travel
  • Ability to relate positively with residents, families, community members, volunteers and staff
Education and Experience
  • Nursing Degree or diploma from an accredited college or university
  • Current license to practice in the state as a Licensed Practical Nurse
  • 1 year of experience preferred
  • Long-Term care experience preferred
Physical Requirements
  • Walking, reaching, bending, lifting, extended sitting, grasping, fine hand coordination, pushing and pulling; ability to distinguish smells and temperatures; all with or without aid of mechanical devices
  • Limited potential for exposure to environmental hazards; adherence to safety standards required
