Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Telemetry position on a busy cardiac unit requiring MI licensure and current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications.

• Work in a 54-bed cardiac telemetry unit in a hospital setting
• Patient population includes heart failure, heart attack (STEMI and NSTEMI), stroke patients needing cardiac monitoring, arrhythmias, and chest pain
• May care for overflow medical patients as needed
• Nurses manage cardiac drips and patients are monitored both remotely and on the unit
• Typical nurse-to-patient ratios are 1:5-6, may increase to 1:7 during call-ins
• Night shifts (3x12 hours, )
• Required to work every other weekend
• No call requirements
• Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays
• Uses Cerner Power chart for charting
• Unit is actively onboarding new travelers to help manage workload
• Patient Care Technicians (PCTs) are being hired to support the unit
• Scrub color is Caribbean Blue

• Active MI RN license required
• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum of 1 year recent telemetry RN experience required
• Must live at least 50 miles from the facility
• First-time travelers are accepted
