Job Description

American Traveler is hiring a night shift RN for a Med/Surg Tele position in Michigan with experience in surgical and telemetry care required.

• Position based on a 46-bed Med/Surg Tele unit in a hospital setting
• Primary patient populations include trauma surgery, post bariatric, abdominal, amputation surgeries, and urological issues
• Also cares for medical and cardiac overflow patients
• Typical patient ratios are 1:5-6, with potential for 1:7 during call-ins
• 3x12 hour night shifts, 19:00 to 7:30
• Weekend shifts required every other weekend
• No on-call responsibilities
• Holiday coverage required for every other holiday
• Unit uses Cerner for electronic charting
• Main responsibilities include caring for patients recovering from surgeries or with medical and cardiac conditions
• Support from PCTs is in place, with efforts underway to further reduce workload due to call-ins
• Collaborative working environment with new travelers actively being onboarded
• Adherence to hospital policies and dress code required

• Active MI RN license required
• Minimum 1 year of recent RN experience
• Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Must live at least 50 miles away from the facility
• First-time travelers will be considered
