Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position caring for surgical and trauma patients on night shifts with required MI RN license.

• Work in a 46-bed Med/Surg Tele unit primarily serving trauma surgery, bariatric, abdominal, amputation, and urological post-operative patients
• Patient ratios typically range 1:5-6, occasionally up to 1:7 during call-ins
• Unit also handles overflow medical and cardiac patients
• Position requires night shift (3x12 hours, 19:00-07:30)
• Every other weekend and every other holiday coverage required
• No on-call requirement
• Uses Cerner for EMR documentation
• Ongoing onboarding of new travelers to help support staffing
• Main responsibilities include caring for post-surgical, trauma, and cardiac overflow patients
• Applicants should be comfortable with fluctuating patient ratios and dynamic staffing
• Support from PCT staff is provided
• Team is actively onboarding new travelers for support
• Compliance with holiday coverage will be expected

• Active MI RN license required
• Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg Tele RN experience
• ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Travelers must reside at least 50 miles from the facility
• Cerner EMR experience preferred but not required
• First-time travelers accepted
