Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Telemetry position on a cardiac unit requiring MI RN license and ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications.

• Work on a 54-bed cardiac telemetry unit in a hospital setting
• Patient population includes heart failure, STEMI, NSTEMI, stroke, cardiac arrhythmias, chest pain, and occasional medical overflow
• Patients are monitored with cardiac monitors and managed in a remote telemetry room in addition to unit-based monitoring
• Typical nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:5-6, with potential to increase to 1:7 during call-ins
• Three 12-hour night shifts per week (19:00 to 07:30)
• Required to work every other weekend
• Must work at least 2 out of 3 major holidays
• No on-call responsibilities
• Block scheduling is not guaranteed, but managers will try to accommodate
• Primary responsibilities include caring for patients requiring cardiac monitoring and administering cardiac drips
• Team is actively onboarding new travelers and hiring PCTs to reduce workload
• Caribbean Blue scrubs are required
• Must be comfortable with varying patient ratios based on unit needs

• Active Michigan RN license required
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience
• Current certifications required: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Cerner Power chart experience preferred
• Candidates must live at least 50 miles from the facility
• First-time travelers are accepted
