Job Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Nurse for a Telemetry position in a high-acuity cardiac unit requiring a MI RN license and cardiac monitoring experience.

• Position is in a hospital-based, 54-bed main Cardiac Telemetry unit
• Patient population includes heart failure, heart attack (STEMI/NSTEMI), stroke, cardiac arrhythmias, chest pain, and occasional medical overflow
• Most patients require cardiac monitoring, including use of cardiac drips
• Remote telemetry monitoring in addition to unit-based monitoring
• PCA support is provided on the unit
• Nurse-to-patient ratios may be as high as 1:7 during periods of high census
• Day shift schedule: four 12-hour shifts per week (07:00-19:30)
• Required to work every other weekend
• Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays
• Responsibilities include monitoring cardiac telemetry, managing cardiac drips, and caring for complex cardiac patients
• Team structure includes close collaboration with PCA staff
• Scrub color required:
  Caribbean Blue
• First-time travelers are accepted
• Block scheduling cannot be guaranteed but is considered when possible

• Active and current MI RN license required
• Minimum of 1 year recent telemetry or cardiac nursing experience
• Current certifications in ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS required
• Experience with Cerner Power chart EMR preferred
• Must reside at least 50 miles away from the facility
