Whatyou will be doing
The Infection Preventionist & Staff Development Nurse will lead staff education and professional development while overseeing the facility’s infection prevention program. In this key leadership role, the Infection Preventionist & Staff Development Nurse will help strengthen clinical excellence by coordinating new-hire orientation, ongoing education, competency assessments, preceptor and mentoring programs, and regulatory training for licensed nursing staff and CNAs.
The Infection Preventionist & Staff Development Nurse will also lead infection prevention efforts across the facility, including monitoring healthcare-associated infections, maintaining infection control policies and reporting, investigating potential outbreaks, managing required communicable disease reporting, and supporting employee health initiatives. Working closely with the Director of Nursing, department leaders, and the interdisciplinary team, the Infection Preventionist & Staff Development Nurse plays an important role in maintaining regulatory compliance, supporting survey readiness, and ensuring staff have the knowledge and skills needed to provide exceptional resident care.

- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution (preferred)
- Be a qualified Infection Preventionist through an approved training program (i.e. CDC Nursing Home Infection Preventionist Training) or complete one within 30 days of hire
- Minimum of 3 years of nursing experience in a supervisory or leadership role, preferably in a long-term care or skilled nursing facility.
