American Traveler is hiring a Step Down RN with 2+ years of PCU/stepdown experience for a night shift position requiring a Michigan RN license.

• Step down unit caring for step down and med-surg patients
• Night shift, 3x12 hours (19:00-07:30)
• Nurse to patient ratio of 1:5
• Works every other weekend
• No on-call requirements
• Floating required to other med-surg areas including AU and ER, with travelers floated first
• Uses Welch Allyn vital sign towers, Sigma IV pumps, and Epic for documentation

• Active Michigan RN license required
• BLS (AHA) certification required
• NIHSS certification required
• ACLS, OCN, and ONC/ONS certifications preferred
• Minimum 2 years PCU/stepdown experience required
• ONC or ONS experience preferred
• Starting IVs required
• Chemotherapy administration experience preferred
• Epic charting experience preferred
• Experience with cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia management preferred
• Experience with IV insulin protocols and titration preferred
• Proof of flu vaccination required for consideration

• Provide nursing care to step down and med-surg patients, including monitoring and management of cardiac dysrhythmias
• Must be available for the first two weeks of the assignment
• Block scheduling cannot be accommodated
• RTO requests after offer must be discussed with the on-site manager, with no more than 10 days allowed
• Locals accepted at the same rate with no radius restrictions
• Previous internal travelers may return after 6 months and previous permanent staff may return after 1 year
• First-time travelers are not required to have prior travel experience
