Description:

This position is for a Registered Nurse in a Step Down unit. The nurse will care for step down and medical-surgical patients. Every other weekend will be required. The nurse will float to other medical-surgical areas as needed. The nurse to patient ratio is 1:5. The ideal candidate will have experience starting IVs. Chemotherapy administration experience is a plus. Key responsibilities include monitoring patient conditions and administering medications.

The unit supports interdisciplinary collaboration with various services. Patients may present with diagnoses such as sepsis, renal failure, respiratory failure, cancer, heart failure, and DKA. Special procedures involve continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis and chemotherapy. Equipment used includes vital sign towers and IV pumps. The facility emphasizes teamwork and effective communication.
