As a Microbiology Laboratory Technician, you will support the company’s quality program in a state‑of‑the‑art laboratory handling raw materials, utilities, APIs, and finished product samples.
Responsibilities- Perform environmental monitoring to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Support microbiological programs, including release/stability testing, sanitization/sterilization validation, media preparation, and growth promotion.
- Conduct qualitative or quantitative assays on samples using standard laboratory equipment and modern automated instrumentation.
- Interpret and evaluate data for accuracy, precision, trends, and potential GMP impact, recommending corrective actions as necessary.
- Participate in laboratory investigations and contribute to writing routine protocols or conducting assay, process, or instrument qualifications.
- Train others to foster a collaborative learning environment.
- Recommend and execute process improvements to enhance laboratory performance continually.
- Demonstrated proficiency in aseptic technique.
- Ability to quickly learn new skills and techniques.
- High productivity with the ability to multi‑task effectively.
- Strong attention to detail and a low error rate.
- Flexibility and agility in adapting to a changing environment.
- Good laboratory technique to avoid cross‑contamination or misidentification of samples.
- Comprehension and performance of both routine and non‑routine analyses from compendial and internal sources.
Skills & Qualifications
- 1 year of experience within an aseptic environment.
- Experience with bioburden and plating techniques.
Work in a GMP‑compliant microbiology lab, trained in environmental monitoring, sterility, media, and growth preparation.
Job Type & LocationContract to Hire, based out of Kalamazoo, MI.
Pay And BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00–$40.00/hr.
