** Overview
* * The Line Cook is responsible for executing consistent, high-quality dishes across all KCC dining outlets—including fine dining, casual, and banquet operations. Working as part of a collaborative culinary team, the Line Cook ensures precision, timing, and excellence during service while upholding the KCC Food & Beverage Vision of delivering exceptional member experiences through creativity, consistency, and teamwork.# #
** What You’ll Be Doing
**** Culinary Execution & Service
*** Prepare and execute menu items following standardized recipes and presentation guidelines.
* Cook and plate dishes to the highest standards during restaurant and banquet service.
* Operate and maintain various cooking stations (grill, sauté, fry, garde manger, etc.).
* Ensure food quality, temperature, and presentation are consistent and meet KCC expectations.
* Communicate effectively with the expeditor and fellow cooks to maintain smooth service flow.
** Preparation & Organization
*** Complete daily prep work for assigned stations according to production lists and par levels.
* Properly label, date, rotate, and store all ingredients and prepped items.
* Maintain clean and organized stations before, during, and after service.
* Support banquet and production prep when required.
** Teamwork & Collaboration
*** Work collaboratively with fellow cooks, chefs, and FOH staff to ensure guest satisfaction.
* Accept direction, feedback, and coaching with a positive, growth-minded attitude.
* Demonstrate pride and ownership in every dish served.
** Safety, Sanitation & Equipment Care
*** Follow all KCC and local food safety regulations and sanitation procedures.
* Use kitchen tools, knives, and equipment safely and properly.
* Assist in daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning and maintenance tasks.
* Report any equipment issues or safety concerns immediately to leadership.
** Continuous Learning & Professional Development
*** Actively build culinary knowledge through mentorship, cross-training, and collaboration.
* Support and participate in the training of new kitchen team members.
* Strive for continuous improvement, contributing ideas to enhance menu execution and guest experience.#
** What You Need for this Position
*** 2+ years of line cooking experience in a professional kitchen; country club or fine dining experience preferred.
* Strong technical skills across multiple cooking methods and kitchen stations.
* Solid understanding of food safety and sanitation standards (Serv Safe certification preferred).
* Excellent time management, organization, and teamwork abilities.
* Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
* Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
* Able to stand for long periods (8+ hours).
* Able to stoop, bend, lift up to 40 lbs, and work safely around hot equipment.
* Comfortable in a fast-paced, high-energy environment.
* Frequent repetitive motions including chopping, stirring, and plating.# #
