The Traveling Lead Field Technician will lead installation and service of security and building automation systems across the Michiana and South Bend region, reporting to the Engineering & IT department at Knight Watch Inc.

Report to the Engineering & IT team as a senior field technician based in Kalamazoo, MI. Travel throughout South Bend, Mishawaka, Elkhart, and the Southern Michigan–Northern Indiana border region to install, program, and support CCTV, access control, fire alarm, HVAC controls, lighting controls, and building automation systems.
Key Responsibilities- Install access control, CCTV, fire alarm, and other security & automation systems in residential and commercial properties.
- Read blueprints and electrical drawings to determine equipment locations.
- Keep up‑to‑date with latest product developments through research and training.
- Educate and demo systems to customers.
- Accurately report materials used and hours worked on each job.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and errors.
- Install equipment in compliance with building codes.
- Gather and review all project documentation.
- Maintain daily communication with customers.
- Complete mobile tasks and submit daily job summaries.
- 3+ years of CCTV and access control system installation experience.
- Programming experience with CCTV and access control systems.
- Organized with strong customer‑service orientation.
- Self‑starter who can work independently and with a team.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to climb ladders and work in small spaces.
- Proficient with power tools, electronics, and Microsoft Office.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Certifications in Lenel, Avigilon, Security Expert, or NICET are a plus.
