Entry-Level Forklift Field Service Technician

Overview

Entry-Level Forklift Field Service Technician at Alta Equipment Group. This full-time, first-shift position is based in Battle Creek, MI and includes a company service van and other benefits. The role is suitable for technicians/mechanics with experience in auto, diesel, agricultural, material handling, lift truck, or heavy equipment repair.

• Perform preventative maintenance on customer forklifts and other material handling equipment
• Diagnose and repair all forms of customer equipment
• Complete each repair job in a timely, efficient and professional manner
• Provide exceptional customer service
• Work and manage workloads independently
• Proper completion and submission of all required paperwork
• Field technicians are responsible for company vehicle and on-board parts inventory
• Incorporate Alta s Guiding Principles into daily activities
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Maintain consistent, regular, and reliable attendance including being ready for work at the designated start time

• One year of previous forklift repair experience is highly desired, including experience from Military, Guard or Reserve with MOS/NEC codes such as 63B, 63H, 63S, 63W, 63Y, 91B, 91H, 91L, 91M or CM
• Previous field experience is highly preferable
• Strong working knowledge of electric and liquid propane forklights units
• Excellent mechanical aptitude
• Possess own tools
• Clean driving record and valid driver’s license to drive company vehicle
• Familiarity with computer programs such as HYPASS, Hyster TKC training software and Yale/Hyster contact management system

• Regularly stand, walk, use hands, reach with hands; frequently talk/hear; occasionally sit, climb/balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
• Vision: no special vision requirements
• Lift and/or Move: regularly up to 10 lbs; frequently 11–25 lbs; occasionally 26–100+ lbs
• Work near moving mechanical parts; exposure to fumes or airborne particles; outdoor weather conditions; occasionally extreme temperatures and risk of electrical shock
