PLUMBER

GENERAL SUMMARY
The purpose of this job is to support maintenance requests and maintain an inventory of repair parts. Maintains plumbing systems. Responds to service problems with drains, faucets, and hot water. Troubleshoots pneumatic systems.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
* Provides support for building operations; maintains an inventory of repair parts for several buildings.
* Maintains irrigation system; replaces supply lines; rebuilds zone valves and communication line; troubleshoots control boxes.
* Changes valving between heating and cooling seasons; troubleshoots pneumatics and electronics.
* Provides support for annual testing and servicing of backflow devices.
* Performs preventative maintenance on water heaters in all County buildings; drains vessels, replaces anode rods, and performs heat exchange cleaning; maintains records of equipment; checks pressure relief valves.
* Orders and picks up plumbing parts as needed.
* Performs related work as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Required
Education and Experience
* High school diploma (or GED equivalent)
* 3 to 5 years of related work experience in plumbing and facility maintenance
* Any equivalent combination of training, education, and experience that provides the required skills, knowledge, and abilities
Required Licenses or Certifications
* Level 5 Drinking Water Operator License within the first year of employment
