Intake Youth Development Professional role at Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Kalamazoo.
Description20 hours per week, Monday-Thursday, 3:00-8:00 p.m., $16.38/hr.
Must be able to work full shifts all 4 days.
Must be 18 or older with a high school diploma or equivalent.

Primary responsibility is to serve as the first point of contact at Club locations and to lead the intake process to maintain accurate member records. Secondary is to support Club activities and to fill in as a Youth Development Professional (YDP) as needed. Responsibilities include strong proficiency using My Club Hub member management system, maintaining positive relationships with members, families, volunteers, and staff and a safe and supportive environment, providing quality youth development, planning and implementing high-yield activities, and upholding member behavior expectations while embracing the mission of Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Kalamazoo.
Duties & Responsibilities Intake Coordination- Lead the intake process using My Club Hub member management system to check all members in and out of the facility, maintain timely and accurate membership records and emergency contact information, take attendance, run reports, and assist parents and guardians with completing Membership and Update forms.
- Monitor the front entrance to ensure all guests sign in and out of the facility. Perform receptionist duties, such as answering the phone, directing calls, taking messages, and greet all Club members and visitors in a positive and welcoming manner. Identify and introduce members and staff, assist staff with recognition of parents and guardians.
- Oversee pickup and drop off times to ensure new members are safely entering and leaving the building, ensure only designated people are picking up members, and assist members in getting to their proper classroom.
- Provide the public, including potential members, with information regarding Club membership, orientations, programs, and activities.
- Assist Unit Manager with distributing and collecting field trip permission forms, special event announcements, notifications of Club closings, targeted programs, and enter information into My Club Hub . Ensure that all members have equal access to this information.
- Be cross trained to fill in for YDPs as needed to lead High-Yield Activities that are age appropriate and provide youth with social-emotional and educational skill development. This also may include facilitating special programs and/or events.
- Be welcoming and provide youth with a fun, high-energy experience with positive engagement. Help set and maintain a culture of fun that is infused with everything we do.
- Help with reaching Unit goals around youth development quality and Social Emotional Learning (SEL) by assessing Club members’ social-emotional behaviors. Provide opportunities and activities that strengthen SEL need areas.
- Have a working understanding of Club activities, programs, intake, and outcome-driven youth development methods.
- Ensure a healthy, productive environment that supports positive peer and adult relationships through physical and emotional safety.
