LENGTH OF EMPLOYMENT:
Academic Calendar Year 2025/2026
PAY RANGE:
$14.00 - $15.00 per hour, depending on experience
WORK SCHEDULE:
Flexible schedule between Monday and Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., 10 hours per week but may work up to 19 hours per week. Availability to work some evenings or special events preferred.
DRESS CODE:
Business Casual with appropriate coverage.
POSITION PURPOSE/ROLEThe Front Desk & Operations Assistant is often the first face people see when they walk into the Center. This role combines hospitality, organization, and hands‑on support to help the Wachholz Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center run smoothly. Greet guests, help coordinate events, and assist with day‑to‑day operations — playing a key part in creating a welcoming and professional environment. Supports the Director of Wachholz Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center.
POSITIONDUTIES
Under minimum supervision:
- Greet and assist visitors, students, and community members in a professional, friendly manner.
- Provide information about the Center’s programs, events, and resources.
- Help set up, take down, and support events and workshops.
- Maintain the cleanliness, organization, and readiness of shared spaces.
- Assist with scheduling, communications, and light administrative tasks (e.g., printing materials, managing sign‑ups).
- Support social media or marketing efforts (posting events, taking photos, updating displays).
- Track attendance and collect feedback from participants.
- May perform other like duties as assigned.
- Must be a current FVCC student enrolled in a minimum of 6 credits per semester, and
- Must be Work Study Eligible (as determined by Financial Aid)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to be reliable and punctual
- Comfortable using technology (email, Google Workspace, event platforms).
- Ability to be professional consistently provide quality customer service to customers, visitors and coworkers and
- Ability to problem‑solve and follow directions, and be self‑motivated, and
- Possesses a cooperative spirit in working with peers, supervisors, students and the public
- An interest in entrepreneurship, marketing, or event management.
- Experience working in customer service, hospitality, or administrative settings.
- Availability to work some evenings or special events.

STUDENT EMPLOYMENT GUIDELINES- Students must be enrolled in a minimum of six (6) credits for fall or spring semester to qualify for student employment.
- Students may not work beyond 19 hours per week during semester.
- Student workers shall be actively engaged; no use of cell phones (except in case of emergency) or social media.
- Student workers shall demonstrate a commitment to the job with adherence to work schedule, effective communication/interpersonal skills, and quality customer service skills to be a representative of FVCC.
