Overview
Jackola Engineering & Architecture in Kalispell Montana is seeking a talented and experienced Structural Engineer with a PE License to join our dynamic team.
You will collaborate closely with multidisciplinary staff, clients, contractors, public agencies, and vendors to bring exceptional designs to life. From subdivision, storm/sewer drainage, water supply piping, grading and surface flow, erosion control, and pavement/concrete design systems, you engage in a wide range of impactful projects.
Site visits and client meetings may require occasional travel, ensuring seamless project execution and strong relationships. If you ready to contribute your expertise to a collaborative, innovative environment, we would love to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities- Independently lead structural design staff throughout the project design and construction phases.
- Identify and solve problems with a goal to provide appropriate and constructable solutions.
- Work in a multi-discipline team environment to manage the development, design, and implementation of structural concepts, systems, drawings, and specifications.
- Coordinate with external suppliers, internal design teams, and manufacturers.
- Ensure structural designs meet company Quality standards.
- Use various software packages to calculate gravity, lateral, and foundation loads.
- Respond to contractors during the construction.
- At least 5+ years of experience post-graduation from an accredited University.
- Structural Professional Engineer (PE) License. (SE designation a plus, but not required)
- Relevant design experience with building structural systems using wood, steel, concrete, and masonry.
- A strong understanding of building codes and value engineering practices.
- Organized and able to handle multiple tasks at a time.
- Self-starter who can work independently and be part of a team.
- Outstanding organization, attentiveness to detail and excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Work independently, managing priorities and providing mentorship to junior staff.
- Ability to prioritize strategically and demonstrate flexibility to achieve long-range goals.
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365, Bluebeam, Autodesk Revit, and industry standard structural design software. (Preferably – Enercalc, RISA, Simpson, or Woodworks)
