Pay Range$14.00 to $15.00 per hour depending on experience
Work ScheduleFlexible schedule between Monday and Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. This position may work up to 19 hours per week.
Dress CodeCasual with appropriate coverage; requires wearing closed-toe shoes and personal protective equipment (PPE) in lab setting; required safety equipment is provided by supervisor
Position Purpose/RoleUnder the minimal supervision, supports Chemistry Department Laboratory and supervisor
Position Duties- Cleans, organizes, and maintains order in the chemistry lab and stockroom; and includes cleaning glassware
- Assists with updating chemical inventory
- Sets up and takes down chemistry labs as directed
- Set up and take down forensic labs as directed
- Current FVCC student enrolled in a minimum of 6 credits per semester, and
- Must be 18 years of age or older, and
- Ability to follow instructions and safety procedures/protocols, and
- Basic lab and technology skills, and
- Ability to work independently with a minimal level of supervision as well as in a team environment, and
- Ability to problem-solve and be self-motivated; and
- Organizational skills and attention to details, and
- Ability and willingness to provide quality customer service; ability to demonstrate a cooperative spirit in working with students, faculty, and supervisor

Student Employment Guidelines- Students must be enrolled in a minimum of six (6) credits for fall or spring semester to qualify for student employment.
- Students may not work beyond 19 hours per week during the semester.
- Student workers shall be actively engaged; no use of cell phones (except in case of emergency) or social media.
- Student workers shall demonstrate a commitment to the job with adherence to work schedule, effective communication/interpersonal skills, and quality customer service skills to be a representative of FVCC.
