EligibilityOpen to all current FVCC Students enrolled in a minimum six of credits for 2024/2025 Academic Year.
Start DateThis position will start in Spring 2025
Pay Range$14.00 - $15.00 per hour
Work ScheduleDates and Times vary with each semester, but will include working weekends and evenings
Dress CodeBlack pants and a white or black shirt or Chef Uniform. Gloves used for food handling are provided by the supervisor
Position Purpose/RoleSupports the Culinary Arts Department as needed for catering events
Position Duties- Performs dishwashing of cooking utensils and food prep equipment, dishware, flatware, stemware, and pots and pans using a dish machine, manual process, and three sink set-up
- Returns clean items to appropriate storage locations
- Sweeps and mops floors
- Maintains cleanliness and sanitation of work station and kitchen areas
- Prep and polish service ware for events
- Serves guests in professional setting
- Preps and cooks food according to Serv Safe guidelines
- Maintains cleanliness of storage rooms before, during, and after events
- May perform other similar tasks as requested
- Reports to the Culinary Arts Program Director or Designee
- Current FVCC student enrolled in a minimum of 6 credits per semester, and
- Be a minimum of 18 years of age and have the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and
- Ability to work with minimum supervision and is self-motivated, and
- Ability to problem-solve and follow directions, and to safely use sanitizing chemicals, and
- Possess a cooperative spirit in working with peers, supervisors, students, and the public

Student Employment Guidelines- Students must be enrolled in a minimum of six (6) credits for fall or spring semester to qualify for student employment.
- Students may not work beyond 19 hours per week during semester.
- Student workers shall be actively engaged; no use of cell phones (except in case of emergency) or social media.
- Student workers shall demonstrate a commitment to the job with adherence to work schedule, effective communication/interpersonal skills, and quality customer service skills to be a representative of FVCC.
