We’re currently seeking Heavy Equipment Excavator Operators to join our Civil Highway Construction Team. This job will travel regularly throughout Western Montana and wages will increase on Davis‑Bacon jobs.

• Proficiency in operating excavators.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience operating heavy equipment (preferred).
• Experience with rock crushers and screening equipment is a bonus.

As a Heavy Equipment Excavator Operator, you will:

• Operate excavators safely and efficiently.
• Conduct routine equipment inspections and report any issues.
• Load materials into plants based on production needs.
• Gain expertise in aggregate sizes, classifications, and weight requirements.
• Work collaboratively and communicate effectively in a fast‑paced environment.
• Adhere strictly to all safety policies and procedures.
• Take initiative, working independently with minimal supervision.

• Strong safety mindset and adherence to safety regulations.
• Team‑oriented with the ability to work independently when needed.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Detail‑oriented with strong decision‑making and problem‑solving abilities.
• Capable of managing pressure, emergencies, and tight deadlines.
• Reliable and ethical with a focus on building positive relationships.
• Willingness to work flexible schedules, including various shifts, overtime, and out‑of‑town assignments.

This role involves:

• Lift and carry 25‑50 lbs. regularly.
• Perform repetitive movements like bending, kneeling, squatting, and twisting.
• Sit or stand for long periods and navigate uneven terrain.
• Work outdoors in all types of weather and noisy environments.
• Frequent sitting
• Occasional push/pull
• Rarely bending/stooping
• Rarely climbing
• Occasional reaching
• Continuous grasping equipment controls
• Occasional fine manipulation
• Frequent use of Foot controls

• Passing a pre‑employment drug test.
• Successfully completing a pre‑employment physical.
