Our client, a well-established civil construction contractor specializing in earthworks, underground utilities, and roadworks, is seeking a Project Coordinator to support ongoing work at Highland Valley Copper Mine. This role is well suited for a proactive, detail-oriented coordinator who is comfortable working heavily in Excel and project systems, tracking large volumes of data, and taking ownership of tasks with minimal supervision.

This is a predominantly office-based role (approximately 90%), with opportunities for periodic field exposure to better understand site operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and maintain LEMs (Labour, Equipment, and Materials) and daily/weekly cost tracking.
  • Track equipment utilization, production data, and civil quantities using Excel and internal systems.
  • Maintain accurate project records, logs, and reports related to productivity, costs, and progress.
  • Support planning, scheduling, procurement, and document control for site operations.
  • Manage RFIs, change orders, and other project documentation.
  • Coordinate closely with site superintendents, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Participate in internal and external project meetings and provide clear updates.
  • Work through a defined task list independently, prioritizing deliverables and deadlines.
  • Assist with implementation of new tracking and reporting processes related to equipment and productivity.
  • Proactively flag issues, discrepancies, or risks and help drive resolutions.
Ideal Candidate
  • 1–3 years of experience as a Project Coordinator in civil construction.
  • Strong experience with Excel and comfort handling large volumes of project and cost data.
  • Exposure to earthworks, underground utilities, or heavy civil projects; mine or industrial experience is an asset.
  • Experience with equipment utilization tracking and civil production data is highly preferred.
  • Self-starter and “go-getter” who does not require constant direction or close supervision.
  • Confident communicator who is comfortable speaking up, asking questions, and engaging with site teams.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable in a fast-paced, data-driven environment.
  • Diploma or degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline preferred.
Why this Firm?
  • $180/day LOA for rotation-based work (14/7 schedule).
  • Paid overtime at 1.5x after standard hours.
  • Full benefits package + RRSP matching.
  • 2 weeks vacation to start.
  • Stable, long-term project with a reputable BC-based contractor.
  • Strong safety culture and supportive team environment.
