Our client, a well-established civil construction contractor specializing in earthworks, underground utilities, and roadworks, is seeking a Project Coordinator to support ongoing work at Highland Valley Copper Mine. This role is well suited for a proactive, detail-oriented coordinator who is comfortable working heavily in Excel and project systems, tracking large volumes of data, and taking ownership of tasks with minimal supervision.
This is a predominantly office-based role (approximately 90%), with opportunities for periodic field exposure to better understand site operations.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and maintain LEMs (Labour, Equipment, and Materials) and daily/weekly cost tracking.
- Track equipment utilization, production data, and civil quantities using Excel and internal systems.
- Maintain accurate project records, logs, and reports related to productivity, costs, and progress.
- Support planning, scheduling, procurement, and document control for site operations.
- Manage RFIs, change orders, and other project documentation.
- Coordinate closely with site superintendents, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Participate in internal and external project meetings and provide clear updates.
- Work through a defined task list independently, prioritizing deliverables and deadlines.
- Assist with implementation of new tracking and reporting processes related to equipment and productivity.
- Proactively flag issues, discrepancies, or risks and help drive resolutions.
- 1–3 years of experience as a Project Coordinator in civil construction.
- Strong experience with Excel and comfort handling large volumes of project and cost data.
- Exposure to earthworks, underground utilities, or heavy civil projects; mine or industrial experience is an asset.
- Experience with equipment utilization tracking and civil production data is highly preferred.
- Self-starter and “go-getter” who does not require constant direction or close supervision.
- Confident communicator who is comfortable speaking up, asking questions, and engaging with site teams.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable in a fast-paced, data-driven environment.
- Diploma or degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline preferred.
- $180/day LOA for rotation-based work (14/7 schedule).
- Paid overtime at 1.5x after standard hours.
