Position SummarySenior Project Manager - Owner's Representative to lead the on-site execution of a major earthworks/tailings infrastructure project in Northern British Columbia
.
This is a single-point leadership role responsible for acting on behalf of the Owner to ensure safe, compliant, and successful delivery of construction activities. The successful candidate will operate independently with full authority on site, providing oversight of contractors, managing risk, and driving performance across schedule, cost, quality, and safety.
This position is best suited for a decisive, hands-on leader who thrives in remote environments and has deep experience delivering large-scale civil or mining construction projects with minimal oversight.
Key Responsibilities- Serve as the Owner's on-site representative with full accountability for project execution
- Provide leadership and oversight of contractors across major earthworks, dam, or tailings construction scopes
- Monitor construction performance related to safety, quality, schedule, cost, and risk
- Enforce compliance with regulatory, environmental, and safety requirements
- Lead QA/QC processes and ensure work meets technical and contractual standards
- Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and issues; elevate when required
- Make timely decisions under ambiguous or changing conditions
- Maintain disciplined contractor management and hold parties accountable to commitments
- Coordinate stakeholders including engineers, regulators, Indigenous communities, and project teams
- Provide clear reporting and communication to the Owner on project status, risks, and performance
- Support planning and mobilization activities prior to construction start
