Dawson Construction is looking for a Foreperson of Paving who will be responsible for onsite facets of the paving process including; safety, quality, roadworks and cleanup.

In this role you will be a valued member of , working in a seasonal, full-time position of Foreperson, Paving reporting to the Superintendent, Paving
. Your base location will be Kamloops, B.C. and will require some travel throughout our great province.

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

Prioritize safety of self and others in every aspect of the job.

Provide management and direction to the paving team.

A strong knowledge of paving best practices .

Knowledge of all types of heavy equipment.

Attend and participate in safety meetings and ensure team abides by safety policies on the work site.

Assist in coordinating and conducting training sessions.

Work with and oversee the performance of all sub-contractors, ensuring that work is completed accurately.

Read and interpret project plans and specifications, and ensure all employees have the information required.

Recommend ways to improve production, quality, and crew performance.

Ensure construction meets approved specifications.

Provide expertise on all pipelaying methods and processes.

WHAT YOU BRING

Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in a supervisory or leadership role in the Asphalt, Paving, or related discipline

Clean Drivers Abstract is required

Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills

Demonstrated ability to work both as part of a team and independently

Experience with Heavy Job an asset
