Inland Truck & Equipment is seeking a Service Advisor for our sales and service dealership in Kamloops, BC. The role focuses on providing excellent service to customers throughout the entire service process, ensuring customer satisfaction and adherence to company standards.
Pay Range
The salary range for this role is between $52,800 and $72,000 based on experience.

Opportunity
The Service Advisor will be responsible for service check‑ins, scheduling, estimating, selling, updating, and following up with customers during the entire service process. The role includes advising customers on proper vehicle care and reviewing final repairs performed.
Prior experience as a service advisor in automotive, truck, or equipment service repair is an advantage, though strong customer service skills can be trained.
Responsibilities
Greets walk‑in customers and promptly answers customer phone calls.
Schedules appointments, performs check‑ins, and follows up with customers through the entire service process.
Provides accurate and thorough estimates, sells related parts and services, and ensures customer approval of the estimate before proceeding with work.
Maintains ongoing communication with customers throughout the service engagement.
Proactively contacts customers to schedule preventative maintenance and repairs.
Maintains strong knowledge of warranty parameters for KW chassis (re: trucks) and major component suppliers, advising customers accordingly.
Owns the customer experience and creates value through continuous communication.
Advise customers on vehicle/equipment care and the value of maintaining specifications.
Handles telephone inquiries regarding appointments and work in process.
Complies with provincial/state and local regulations affecting service operations (hazardous waste disposal, OSHA, Work Safe BC, Occupational Health & Safety).
Familiar with and complies with the company’s Health & Safety Manual, reporting unsafe practices to a manager.
Maintains WHMIS (Canada) and OSHA HCS (US) training.
Other duties may be assigned.
The Service Advisor will work a rotational schedule including Day, Evening, and Weekend shifts.
Qualifications
Strong interpersonal skills, team player, helpful and cheerful with a sales approach.
Ability to proactively problem‑solve and think logically.
Good verbal and strong written communication skills.
3+ years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Post‑secondary diploma or trade certification helpful but not required.
Strong listening skills and ability to interpret issues and pass them on to others.
Good mechanical aptitude and great organizational skills.
Strong computer skills, ability to learn new programs, and accurate keyboarding of data.
Functions well in a large volume and fast‑paced environment.
Accountability and dependability with strong time management.
Must be able to lift a minimum of 25 kgs (50 lbs) on occasion.
Must be able to walk around shop floor/parts department and sit/stand at the service counter.
