Become a Dispatcher at the Kamloops Fire Centre, managing emergency responses for wildfires. This on-site role requires a meticulous approach and strong communication skills.
As a Dispatcher, you will coordinate emergency response efforts related to wildfires across British Columbia. The role mandates multitasking and effective radio communication to support teams on the ground. You'll learn quickly during extensive training and be prepared for demanding hours during peak wildfire seasons.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist with firefighting emergency operations
• Maintain communication with aircraft and ground personnel
• Ensure adherence to safety procedures
• Perform effectively under challenging conditions
• Stay ready for immediate response during shifting demands
Requirements:
•
Education:
Grade 12 or equivalent
• Minimum typing speed of 50 WPM
• Experience with high-pressure environments
• Competency in Microsoft Office suite
• Flexibility for extended shifts and standby duties
Contribute to the safety and effectiveness of our wildfire response efforts as a Dispatcher at Kamloops Fire Centre.
