Become a CMNS 2150 instructor in the Department of Communication and Visual Arts for Winter 2026, focusing on Indigenous Voices in media. Inspire students to learn about cultural politics.
The Department is looking for a qualified instructor to teach Collective and Connective Indigenous Voices. This course will critically explore Indigenous representations and identities in media and cultural aspects of Canada. Classes happen on Mondays and Thursdays from 11:30am to 12:45pm.
Key Responsibilities:
• Teach Indigenous Voices curriculum effectively
• Explore critical issues of representation in class
• Foster discussions on cultural appropriation and identity
• Evaluate student progress and work
• Ensure diverse perspectives are included in teaching
Requirements:
• Lived experience with Indigenous peoples and culture
• Master’s degree in Communication or a related discipline
• Significant relevant experience may substitute for a degree
• Understanding of contemporary media practices
• Effective communication and teaching abilities
Advocate for Indigenous representation in media by teaching CMNS 2150 this Winter.
