This tenure-track position at Thompson Rivers University seeks an experienced mountain professional with a strong background in guiding, avalanche safety, and expedition leadership. In this role, you will instruct field courses, teach classroom courses, and design curriculum while ensuring student development and safety throughout practical experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead field courses in mountaineering and ski touring
• Teach expedition planning and adventure activities
• Design curriculum aligned with industry standards
• Coordinate logistics and risk management for courses
• Mentor students pursuing mountain industry careers
Requirements:
• IFMGA/UIAGM Full Mountain Guide certification
• Canadian Avalanche Association Qualified Avalanche Professional
• Master's degree or near-completion
• 10 years of professional guiding experience
• Demonstrated teaching experience
