Paraprofessional - Library Media Technician

Sagebrush Elementary is looking for a positive, professional, and motivated Library Media/Technology Paraprofessional to join our team for the 2026/2027 school year. This position is eligible for 10 paid sick leave days and 2 paid personal days (more based on years of service). Time off matches the school calendar, including Christmas break, spring break, and summer. This position is eligible for medical, dental, vision, and supplemental insurance plans and will contribute to the Wyoming Retirement Employee Pension Plan.

STARTING

HOURLY RATE

$16.27-$19.27, depending on experience ($1.00 increase for BA/BS)

QUALIFICATIONS
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Typing, word processing, and computer skills
  • Ability to work effectively with students and staff
  • Highly qualified (associate's degree OR pass the Para Pro exam) - This is for Title-1 Paraprofessional positions ONLY!

JOB GOAL

To perform and assist in all duties related to the Library Media Center, instructional technology, and teacher support; to supervise students as assigned.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assist the library media specialist in performing circulation, reader guidance, and reference duties for students and faculty.
  • Process all print and non-print materials following procedures established by the library media specialist.
  • Assist in library organization and materials management, including book shelving, set-up/tear-down, basic cleaning, etc.
  • Assist, support, and interact positively with students concerning library and other media/technology services, including books, computer labs, and instructional technology.
  • Support teachers and staff in the use of the library media center, computer labs, and mobile media services, including classroom support.
  • Maintain and operate computers and other instructional technology, including computer labs, mobile labs, lunch terminals, library software, and digital devices.
  • Assist in the organization of the library media center and reproduction of teacher materials prior to the opening of school.
  • Assist with year-end inventory and tabulation of patron fines and fees.
  • Support teachers through efficient and accurate creation and reproduction of classroom materials; maintain and operate office equipment, including photocopiers, network devices, printers, laminators, etc.
  • Supervise students according to school procedures and expectations, both in the library media center and in other assigned spaces, including before/after school and lunch.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the library media specialist and/or building principal(s).
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT

Employment relationship with the District is at will and of indefinite duration. Salary and fringe benefits to be set by the Board of Trustees.

Upon board approval, eligible staff move one (1) step on the wage schedule annually, except in those years when the Board of Trustees sets a wage freeze due to budget constraints.

Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's Policy on Evaluation of Classified Personnel.
