Become a key part of the Lower Nicola Indian Band as a Full-Time School Education Assistant in Merritt, British Columbia. Support students with diverse learning needs to foster academic success and social development.
As a critical member of the education team, you will provide one-on-one support under the direction of the Learning Assistance Teacher, assist with small group instruction, and help implement individualized educational plans.
Your role will promote a safe, inclusive, and respectful learning environment, which is vital for student success within the community.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide one-on-one support for identified students
• Assist with maintaining safe learning environments
• Implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) effectively
• Supervise students during various school activities
• Prepare classroom materials for educational needs
Requirements:
• Completion of Grade 12 Diploma
• Education Assistant Certificate or related training
• Valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence
• First Aid Certification or willingness to obtain
• Successful Criminal Record Check
