Elementary School Teacher

Position: Full-Time Elementary School Teacher
Make an impact in education with Tk'emlúps te Secwépemc as a full-time Elementary School Teacher. Teach K-7 students using the BC curriculum and Secwepemc cultural teachings.

At Sk'elep School of Excellence, you will assume teaching responsibilities for elementary grades K-7. This certified teaching role requires planning, supervising, and motivating students in a positive learning environment. You'll engage with students through creative lesson presentations and manage classroom dynamics effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

• Teach all areas of the BC curriculum including Secwepemc traditions

• Assess and manage student performance and behaviour positively

• Maintain accurate records and prepare reports as needed

• Coordinate with parents, Elders, and community members

• Organize extracurricular activities and school events

Requirements:

• Valid BC teaching certificate or eligibility for certification

• Minimum Bachelor of Education Degree, TQS Category 5

• Knowledge of BC curriculum and relevant educational programs

• Experience in First Nations schools preferred

• Commitment to cultural awareness and community involvement
