Join the Tkek Yeel Stem Camp as a Counsellor this summer! This full-time opportunity emphasizes cultural education and community engagement for youth.
As the Camp Counsellor under the Language and Culture Manager, you'll guide the development and implementation of camp activities promoting language, history, and culture. Applicants must be high school students of Aboriginal or Inuit descent and preferably have experience interacting with children and youth.
Your role involves ensuring safety, compliance, and effective team management.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist in camp program planning and delivery
• Recruit staff to support intergenerational learning
• Monitor youth policies for legal compliance
• Coordinate engaging activities for participants
• Supervise campers’ well-being and safety
Requirements:
• Enrollment as a high school student (Grade 11 or lower)
• Need first aid and transportation certificates
• Lifeguard certification is an asset
• Basic computer skills preferred
• Criminal Record Check mandatory
