Indigenous Student Engagement Facilitator Merritt

Join the Nicola-Similkameen School District as an Indigenous Student Engagement Facilitator. Provide crucial support to Indigenous students and foster community connections in Merritt and Princeton.

In this full time role, you will engage with students and families while collaborating with community agencies to enhance attendance and educational success. Working closely with the District Principal for Indigenous Education, you will utilize cultural resources, support emotional growth, and act as an advocate for students within and outside classroom environments.

• Provide culturally-informed services for students and families
• Assist in implementing wellness and educational programs
• Collaborate with support teams for student engagement
• Facilitate community service referrals as needed
• Supervise students during various settings

• Bachelor’s Degree in an applicable field
• Experience with Indigenous youth engagement
• Strong interest in diversity, equity, and inclusion
• Understanding of Indigenous cultural history and rights
• Valid BC Driver’s license and Criminal Record Check
